Charlie McAvoy, you cant get more Boston than that.
After Boston University fell to Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, Charlie McAvoy has decided to forego his final two seasons at Boston University and has signed an ATO (Amateur Tryout contract) and should report to Providence as early as this weekend.
McAvoy, who was the Bruins 12th overall pick in this past summers NHL Draft, had two outstanding seasons at Boston University and manned the blue line the past two years.
McAvoy ends his college career with 8 goals and 43 assists for 51 points in 75 games, not too shabby for a nineteen year old defenseman.
McAvoy also won a Gold medal at the IIHF World Junior Tournament taking home MVP honors for the tournament.
Charlie McAvoy also could be the biggest beauty to join the Bruins since Tyler Sequin. Not only did he crush the city of Boston for two years now, but he may have the most perfect name in Bruins history.
Welcome to the B’s kid, we need ya.
