The Celtics play the Wizards on Monday night. Its been a hard fought series throughout, and game 7 should be no different. Naturally, people are pondering just how important this game is to the Celtics.
Surprisingly, it’s not as important as you might think. If the Celtics lose, management is not going to shake up the genetic makeup of this team. Danny Ainge has a vision for this team, and regardless of how game seven goes, that vision will stay the same.
Danny is not going to overhaul this Celtics roster, even if they were to get dismantled in game seven.
Now what exactly he plans to do is a different article for a different day, but the point is if the Celtics are eliminated Monday night it should not even be considered a bump in the road.
On the other hand, the importance of this game fir the Celtics is to be able to test themselves against the beasts of the easts and see just how close they are to their level.
Also for this squad the more playoff experience the better.
All in all, this Game 7 is important for the test and for the player experience (and the fans of course). However as for the teams future, whether they win or lose has little affect on what the team will do in the upcoming years.
