In The Wake Of Thad Matta’s Retirement, OSU Releases Wishlist Of Coaches, It Includes Brad Stevens And Became An Instant Joke

After 13 seasons in Columbus, Ohio State coaching legend Thad Matta has called it quits.

Ohio State is a traditional power that has fallen off the past couple of seasons and needs to re-tool quickly. So, they have a rumored list of candidates they are interested in.

My god OSU is shooting for the stars if this is true, and that’s an understatement. This team isn’t the Ohio State we are used to seeing, they finished 17-15 on the season and had a 7-11 record in the Big Ten. Since D’Angelo Russell was a buckeye, they haven’t made the NCAA tournament and have been declining fast, which probably resulted in Matta hanging them up. Ohio State isn’t rebuilding anytime soon, their 2016 recruiting class had only 4 commits and only 1 in the ESPN 100. The 2017 class gets worse, they only got TWO total commits and I imagine guys will now leave now that Matta is gone. With all this decline, why would any coaches take them seriously? Especially coaches of the caliber on that list.

The internet certainly didn’t take them seriously…..

Listen, they could get a quality coach to take over due to their program pedigree and $$$. They could take a shot at someone like Chris Mack, but certainly NOT Brad Stevens or Jay Wright…. I get it shooters shoot and big dreamers do big things… but there is a line where possibility hits delusion, OSU has leaped the line of delusion kinda like the way Lamar Jackson hurdles Syracuse defenders.

Since this list is completely delusional and won’t happen, why not include Roy Williams?! The guy just hauled in a Natty!

In conclusion, is there Ohio State trolls that actually think this might happen? Maybe, but they are:
