First ‘Black Panther’ Trailer Released

During Game 4 of the NBA Finals we got our first look at Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ movie, set for release February 16, 2018, and it looks amazing!

In the trailer we see enemies of Black Panther pulled straight from the comics; Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), Man-Ape (Winston Duke), and Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis).

Black Panther will also serve as prelude to Avengers: Infinity War which is set for release only three months later on May 6, 2018.

We did not see The Winter Soldier in the trailer but after the events of Captain America: Civil War, he is frozen in Wakanda and I would think Black Panther might reach out for some help with all the enemies he is facing. At least I hope he does. Seeing Black Panther and The Winter Soldier fight together would be pretty cool.

Black Panther was the first mainstream black superhero, debuting in the comics before Falcon and Luke Cage. “I had some super-characters before [that were black], but the Black Panther was the first one we devoted an entire book to,” creator Stan Lee told Yahoo in 2015.

In case you were wondering, Black Panther comics predated the Black Panthers political group.
