Paulie Malignaggi, who has been training with Conor McGregor in preparation for McGregor’s upcoming bout with Floyd Mayweather on August 26th, quit Conor’s camp yesterday. He announced his decision after pictures surfaced on twitter showing him getting knocked down and taking an uppercut; both which Malignaggi indicated wasn’t “what really happened” when describing the sparring session.
Allegedly there is video of the sparring session that the UFC owns and will not release at this time. Malignaggi said “Conor, if you have any balls, release what happened.” He also went on today saying he wanted to be part of the event but not part of the “story”.
With approximately three weeks until the match with Mayweather, it will be interesting to see who he signs on to be his sparring partner and in my opinion this shows that McGregor is nowhere near ready to take down Mayweather. I can’t wait to see McGregor get knocked out.
