The so called “super fight” is just about 3 weeks away, but apparently the tickets are not selling as expected. As we get closer, the hype is obviously heating up. Floyd Mayweather, President of the “Money Team”, the man who has put himself over everyone in any fight he has ever been in. The same man that said, “Ali was a great fighter, but I’m better. [Sugar Ray] Robinson was a great fighter, but I’m better.” Yes, this man has an ego that is unbearable at times (most of the time), yet for his last fight ever (most likely), his chance to go 50-0, he says things such as, “He’s a lot younger. When you look at myself and Conor McGregor on paper, he’s taller, has a longer reach, he’s a bigger man from top to bottom. He’s a lot younger, so youth is on his side” as well as “And I’ve been off a couple of years. And I’m in my 40s. So, if you look at everything on paper, it leans toward Conor McGregor.” This makes no sense, a man who never doubts himself, is 49-0 going against a man who has never boxed before, and who also does not have the stamina or body durability according to his ex-sparring partner. Former boxer Paul Malignaggi went on to expose McGregor after he quit his camp by saying, “The body shots started to affect him more and more. I could hear him whimper” and exposing his lack of stamina by saying “From six rounds on he became very hittable. My work was more consistent. My counter punching was sharper. My jab was sharper.” Does anybody find this a little coincidental?
Mayweather, comes out and doubts himself for the first time ever after McGregor gets exposed by his sparring partner? Does that make any sense? No, but what makes sense is that the man who is all about the “green” is trying to help sell tickets so he gets the “green” he is so motivated by. I believe all the reports giving hope to the result of the fight other than the long shots of “If McGregor can land a punch” or “If McGregor says screw it and kicks Floyd”; is just to help sell the tickets. As I said before the tickets have not been doing as well as they have expected, so how else to sell the fight other than to give fans hope. According to Kristine Leahy, Floyd “Does not look good in camp”, if you don’t see a flaw in this you need to read up about what else his camp is putting out there. How could he look bad when his sparring partners from his camp also go on ESPN to help explain why they believe he is unbeatable. This is clear that they are just trying to sell the tickets, as they are putting out two contradicting reports. Floyd has never doubted himself for the last 49 fights he has been in, doubts himself in a fight where he has the most advantage? Honestly this all seems like one big lie just to give fans a different outlook on the fight so they buy tickets.
Lets recap what we have been told and why they are fraudulent statements.
Floyd doubts himself for the first time ever?
No, Floyd has fought for over 20 years, and has been in 49 fights where he has bet on himself every single time. Why in a fight where the advantages are just about all in Floyd’s favor, would he doubt himself for the first time ever? Especially after McGregor’s ex-sparring partner exposed his weaknesses. It just doesn’t add up.
Floyd doesn’t look good in camp?
Why would his camp put that out there in the first place, they have been working with Floyd for a while now, they know what goes on there when it comes to revealing information. Also, why would they say he doesn’t look good, but then go on ESPN and explain why he is unbeatable. This all sounds pretty contradicting.
The one truthful statement:
The only thing I actually believe from the reports is what Malignaggi said about McGregor because he was paid by McGregor to come into his camp and help him train. Therefore he should be rooting for McGregor and not be providing information to show his weaknesses to the press. He has already made his name, so this was not some act to get his name out there, it is the only report that actually makes sense.
My pick for the winner: Floyd “Money” Mayweather
Fans need to remember no matter what they tell you, Floyd has the advantage. Unless McGregor loses his mind and kicks him, Floyd is going to win.
One last reminder for fans, DO NOT BELIEVE what has come out recently, and when it comes to the fight game, if they tell you the sky is blue, make sure you look up (they’ll tell you anything to sell tickets).
