Big Baller Brand Officially Signs Deal with NBA 2K

Folks, Lavar Ball is doing it. He’s taking over the basketball world. Just about a year ago, nobody knew who Lavar was or what he was capable of. Today, he is a household name as well as a marketing genius.

When the ZO2’s dropped this past May at the small price of $495 a pair, social media exploded. Lavar responded to this feedback with an all time quote basically calling out his fan base, “If you can’t afford the ZO2’s, you’re not a big baller!” Everyone agreed that Big Baller Brand was being ridiculous and they would soon flame out and be a thing of the past. Well we couldn’t be more wrong. Lavar is not only selling Big Baller Brand merchandise but signed with the NBA 2K video game franchise to have the ZO2’s be in NBA 2K18.

This announcement became official this evening when the @NBA2K twitter account tweeted out their agreement with BBB.

Why is this a big deal? Considering that Lavar shot down Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour (unless they were willing to pay the $3 Billion asking price), he ultimately did this by himself. Like it or not Lavar’s reign is just starting with Lonzo entering the league and soon to be followed by younger brothers LiAngelo and LaMelo. This is just the start of the Lavar era in the NBA.
