ESPN FC – Manchester United have re-signed striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a new one-year contract, the club announced on Thursday.
Ibrahimovic was released at the end of last season following a major injury but is now back at Old Trafford for the 2017-18 campaign.
In April, he suffered a knee ligament injury that brought his first season in the Premier League to a premature end.
Zlatan Ibrahimović, who is considered to be one of the greatest strikers of all-time, has signed a new one-year deal with Manchester United worth an amount that has not been disclosed yet. While playing for Man Utd last season, Ibra made £200k ($236,000) per week, so expect this year’s salary to be something close to that.
This comes after scoring 17 goals in 28 games last year before his career was put in jeopardy when he tore a ligament in his knee.
At 35 years old, Ibrahimović’s performance has slowly been regressing, but he still remains one of the top strikers in the world and is far from washed up.
In his professional career, he has scored 319 goals in 512 club games and 62 goals in 116 international games.
