The New York Jets will be adding one of the top free agent corners to their young and talented secondary next season. Per reports, cornerback Trumaine Johnson will sign with Gang Green once free agency officially begins tomorrow, with the deal being worth roughly $15 million per year.
This is a huge move for New York, who desperately needed to make a big splash this offseason. Johnson, 28, who has spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams, is one of the better corners in the league. He will be taking his talents to the Big Apple, where he will join a promising secondary headlined by safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye. The Rams opted to let Johnson walk after acquiring star corners Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib via trade earlier this offseason.
