The Aaron Hernandez Series Looks About as Intense as You’d Expect

The terrible tale of Aaron Hernandez has gripped New England for years now, and it’s about to be back in the headlines yet again. The trailer for Oxygen’s 2-part series on the Patriots player-turned-convicted murderer dropped this week, and ooof. Featuring never-before-seen footage, exclusive interviews, and a whole lot of depressing stuff, Aaron Hernandez: Uncovered promises to take us back to one of the darkest stories in NFL history while also revealing some new revelations.

Hernandez committed suicide in prison last year. He was serving a life sentence and had also been accused of a double murder, but was found not guilty five days before he took his life. An autopsy revealed that he had late-stage CTE, the brain disease that afflicts many NFL players. Hernandez was a star on the Patriots in the early 2010s, but was never able to leave the gang life behind. It’s a tale many have called tragic, and it appears the upcoming docuseries will align with that theme.

Part 1 premieres on Oxygen on Saturday, March 17, at 7 p.m. ET/PT and part 2 Sunday, March 18 at 7 p.m. ET/PT
