A lot of you may have seen on Twitter or some social media platform that the Seahawks released QB Trevone Boykin due to a domestic violence allegation made against the quarterback. With an investigation coming, they thought it was best to let him go. The details of this have actually been pretty gruesome but as always, there are two sides to every story.
Details emerged about the incident later in the day after the Seahawks released Boykin and if any of those details are true, Boykin just solidified his spot as one of the biggest scumbags in the NFL. Long story short, it is said in the accusation that Trevone Boykin “broke his girlfriend’s jaw and choked her out.”
In an article written by Darin Gantt on NBCSports.com, he put a quote in there from the women who is accusing Boykin: “So he goes into a choke. I remember him choking me and I’m trying to calm him down. And I just couldn’t. And I blacked out. I just couldn’t calm him down at all,” Shabrika Bailey said. “The pressure was just hard. The pressure got hard to where I just remember just collapsing completely. And I just woke up in a puddle of blood on the kitchen floor. My whole right side was full of blood on the kitchen floor.”
As of now, this situation looks horrific and even looks worse, since according to Gantt in the same article, the couple had been in a domestic violence situation before. So what’s Boykin have to say about this?
This is where the story gets interesting. Trevone Boykin didn’t waste any time coming out and denying ALL allegations made against him. Ian Rapoport posted this picture of what Boykin had to say after the details emerged and he was released by the Seahawks:
The NFL has dealt with too many of these domestic violence cases over the years and most of them, if not all of them, come out to being true because there’s some evidence to go with it (ray rice in the elevator.) As of now, I haven’t seen anything of the sort from this case. I’m not saying it’s not out there, I just haven’t seen it yet.
As of right now, everything seems a little cloudy to me as you can’t really tell who’s right and you’re always innocent until proven guilty. This may be one of those things that in time, more and more details will emerge and the truth will come out but right now, it’s not clear as to who’s lying and who’s telling the truth.
