The Notorious Thug

Conor McGregor is headlining news once again, but this time it’s for something outside the octagon. McGregor had a warrant out for his arrest after attempting to assault Khabib Nurmagomedov, a UFC athlete that laid hands on Artem Lobov, McGregor’s teammate. McGregor flew all the way from Ireland to NYC with a group of guys just to confront and attempt to fight Khabib (talk about a loyal teammate).

McGregor, once he arrived to NYC, showed up to the Barclays Center to confront Khabib. He then proceeded to take a dollie (hand truck) and throw it through the window of the van, injuring Michael Chiesa, a lightweight UFC fighter. He kept his rampage going by picking up several objects and trying to throw it through the van’s window. This incident caused a lot of chaos. McGregor’s actions caused three fights to get cancelled, leading to the UFC losing money along with the six fighters.

McGregor turned himself into the police. He was then charged with three counts of assault and one count of felony criminal mischief. That’s not where it ends for McGregor. He will most likely have to pay the UFC for lost revenue, pay the fighters for the money they all lost not being able to fight, pay the fighter he injured, and pay for the damages he caused. Getting bailed will be difficult for McGregor, considering how much money he will have to pay everyone else.

This was not a publicity stunt; it was a stupid career and life decision by McGregor, which ultimately lands him in jail. He might NEVER be able to fight in the UFC again with what Dana White is saying. Dana White said on Get Up on ESPN, “This is bigger than ‘is Conor McGregor getting fired?… He’s probably going to be a convicted felon when this is over.” Before this incident, Dana White was just working on a new deal with McGregor.

Conor McGregor could’ve easily avoided all of this. Instead of getting arrested for trying to beat up a guy ILLEGALLY, he could’ve worked out a deal with Khabib and Dana White to set up a fight. If McGregor thought all of this through, he would’ve been paid to kick Khabib’s ass, and oh yeah, LEGALLY do it. This isn’t the first time Conor McGregor has gone on a rampage, but this incident is definitely the worst by far.

Conor, you’re making the Irish look bad man. I understand the Irish Temper (me being full Irish), but you should’ve thought this through.
