Sabers Win the Rasmus Dahlin Lottery

Last night the NHL had their draft lottery and it was a very interesting one I have to say. Everyone knows that whoever got the first pick it will most likely be Rasmus Dahlin. Well, ladies and gentleman of Buffalo you have won the sweepstakes. The Sabers got the first pick in the 2018 draft and Buffalo’s future is looking brighter and brighter.
The final three teams were Buffalo, Carolina and the Montreal Canadians. Now I think that it would have been great for hockey and great for the NHL to see Dahlin in the red and white of a Habs sweater I think the Sabers winning does just as well. What a lot of people don’t know is that Buffalo is a great hockey city. They live and breath that shit up there once the football season is over. These fans are nuts and it shows because they are consistently in the top 3 for best markets. Think about this. BUFFALO BEAT OUT BOSTON FOR TOP 3 NHL MARKETS!!! (in the USA). They pack in the fans and to be honest I don’t know how because man do they suck. They haven’t made playoffs in forever and I don’t know how they do it. These fans probably went nuts when they saw they got the number one pick and they knew they were getting a Bobby Orr prototype.
The Sabers with this kid now have a young core that could start to make waves pretty soon. Behind Jack Eichel, Reinhart and Ristolainen, Dahlin can become a solid and meaningful player pretty fast.
So, here’s my prediction for the Sabers going into the next 4 years.
2018-2019: Miss playoffs but were a way better team than last year
2019-2020: Miss playoffs but by one spot
2020-2021: MAKE PLAYOFFS and finally hockey is back in Buffalo
2021-2022: Advance to conference finals but lose to the Bruins who still have the perfection line dominating the league
