Source — Rhode Island is joining the states getting into the sports betting game.
Gov. Gina Raimondo on Friday signed the state’s fiscal year budget, which includes provisions for the state’s two Twin River casinos — located in Lincoln and Tiverton — to offer sports betting through the Rhode Island lottery.
The casinos are targeting the fall to begin offering sports betting, with Oct. 1 a potential opening day.
Another domino falls in the gambling world as Rhode Island has approved sports betting in their casinos with an October 1st target date. This is big news as it follows my article of How Close Is Every State to Legalizing Sports Betting – and shows just how quick states can move.
Rhode Island had just gotten started a few short weeks ago and now they have things in motion to start taking bets in just over 3 months!
