Brewers Defeat Dodgers in Game 6 to Force Game 7 in NLCS

In a stunning show of resilience in the face of elimination, the Milwaukee Brewers have defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 7-2 to force a game 7 in the NLCS.

After looking dead in the water during Game 5, in which the Dodgers really laid it on, the Brewers came alive in front of their home crowd.

In the top of the first inning, David Freese opened the scoring with a solo home run to right centerfield, and I, as well as many other people I would assume, all got flashbacks to 2011 and thought he was going to go crazy in another NLCS Game 6 against the Brewers. However, after that quick blast from the past, it was ALL Brewers from then on.

In the bottom half of the inning, Jesus Aguilar would come up huge with a 2 run double down the right field line to give the Brewers a 2-1 lead. The very next batter, Mike Moustakas, proceeded to double in Aguilar. The next batter after him, Erik Kratz, would add to his legendary postseason with an RBI single to right. Three consecutive run-scoring hits, all with two outs, and bam, the games already over before it’s even started.

The next inning, Ryan Braun would have his own share of the heroics by doubling in Christian Yelich to make the score 5-1.

Neither starting pitcher was sharp at all. Hyun Jin Ryu only went 3 innings while giving up 5 earned runs, 7 hits, and 2 walks. Yuck. Wade Miley wasn’t very good either, as he only went 4.1 innings and gave up 2 runs.

The Brewers bullpen was the difference maker, though. After looking shaky in almost every game so far this series, the trio of Corey Knebel, Jeremy Jeffress, and Corbin Burnes extinguished any hope the Dodgers had of coming back by hurling 4 ⅔ innings of no-hit baseball.

Jesus Aguilar would add to the scoring, again, by scoring on a passed ball in the 7th inning, and then having an RBI single to right in the 8th to increase the lead to 7-2.

Aguilar was undoubtedly the star of the show. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles, 3 RBI’s, and 2 runs scored. Lorenzo Cain also got in on the fun by going 2-5 with 2 runs scored.

Quick side note; Manny Machado went 0-4 with 2 strikeouts and got BOOED LIKE CRAZY.

Game 7 will be tonight at 8:00 EST. The Dodgers will send Walker Buehler to the mound.  The Brewers will counter with Jhoulys Chacin.

Game 7. Win or go home. The chance to go to the World Series on the line.

Nothing better than playoff baseball.
