Kid Earning $22 Million on YouTube

When I was a kid, I liked to play street hockey outside, play on travel hockey teams, hang out with my friends, and do other normal kid stuff.

There is one kid nowadays who is bucking that trend. In fact, this particular kid makes what I did back when I was seven-years-old look like a complete waste of time.

If you’re a parent who has young kids, you may already know who I am talking about. In fact, there is a good chance that you might be sick of him, but nevertheless, you watch him because he gives both you and your kid’s ideas for what toys to get for them.

Of course, I am talking about Ryan of “Ryan’s Toy Review channel on YouTube.” This seven-year-old kid gets filmed by one of his parents opening up a new toy and playing with it.

While this is a very simple idea and sounds quite boring, you probably won’t think that after finding out that Ryan made $22 million in revenue last year from his YouTube account. Yes, you read that number right.

This is from Business Insider that was linked in the second paragraph above :

“Ryan, the 7-year-old “host” of Ryan ToysReview, a popular toy-review channel on YouTube, jumped from No. 8 to No. 1 on Forbes’annual list of YouTube stars who are making the most money.

A family-run YouTube channel, Ryan ToysReview generated about $22 million in pretax income from June 1, 2017, through June 1, 2018, according to Forbes, up from $11 million the year prior. The raw estimate of $22 million put Ryan ToysReview just ahead of controversial star Jake Paul (who banked $21.5 million).”

The fact that he has made this much money off a simple idea is absolutely astounding. What’s more is that Ryan now has his own toy line and is basically a brand himself. As such, he will probably end up earning even more than that figure mentioned above.

I am not sure if Ryan realizes this, but he is set for life. He’s got a ton of cash, multiple revenue streams, and all the latest technology in the world at his fingertips.

It’s Ryan’s world and we’re just living in it.
