Josh Gordon, the once was “next big thing” in the NFL has met his match once again mentally, and possibly with drugs. Reports from Tom Pelissero claims that Gordon “is facing another indefinite suspension for violating terms of his reinstatement under the substance abuse policy, per source,” and by per source, he means he heard it through the grapevine from another reporter and the list goes on and on.
The Patriots took a low-risk chance on Gordon earlier this season, giving up a fifth-round pick for him. The Patriots would have received a seventh-round pick back if Gordon was not active for 10 games…he was active for 11. Looking back on that trade, it was the best decision, considering what is currently transpiring. The Patriots released the following statement:
It’s unfortuante to see an athlete with so much potential, end up in a continuous situation like this. Gordon put up decent numbers during his time in New England, with 40 receptions, 720 yards, and 3 TDs, with two 100-yard games. He was showing flashes of what could’ve been, and its just that, what could’ve been.
