The Boston Bruins have finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel for almost everybody’s injuries.
Urho Vaakaneinen is going to Finland to participate in the world juniors since he is healthy. Jake Debrusk could be returning against the Hurricanes. Zdeno Chara and Kevan Miller look to be back before the Winter Classic and Patrice Bergeron is back in the lineup.
With Bergeron out of the lineup the Bruins survived and stayed in position to gain ground on competition once he returned and now he’s back. Now the team can thrive since David Krejci has now shown that he is still a top center in this league when he has talent around him. So with Bergeron returning, Bruce Cassidy decided to split the top line for the B’s and give Krejci Pasta on the wing, while Heinen and Nordstrom fill in the empty spots.
In Bergeron’s return he made a huge impact by scoring 2 goals and tallied an assists as well. He should’ve gotten credit for an additional assist as he poked a puck free to spring a 2 on 1 for Pasta and Marchy during a line change.
Bruins fans should feel very good at the spot their in right now because they can still chase the Sabres and the Maples Leafs for spots in the playoffs. With everyone on the brink of coming back to the lineup this team could catch fire. With both goaltenders playing great, solid defense and now 2 lines of actual offense this team could be poised to make a run especially if they can trade for an additional winger.
The Bruins will take a mini break after their game against Carolina and then see action again before the Winter Classic against the Chicago Blackhawks. Hopefully then everyone will be healthy and back in the lineup for the playoff push.
