Well folks, this is an interesting way to start your Friday.
Robert Kraft, the 77-year-old billionaire owner of my beloved New England Patriots, has been arrested along with several others, in a prostitution sting in Jupiter, Florida. The police have announced that he will be charged with “soliciting another to commit prostitution,” according to Jupiter Police Chief Daniel Kerr.
Officials say Kraft is accused of soliciting a prostitute on at least 2 separate occasions at a massage parlor in Florida roughly “a month ago.” Cops say they have obtained evidence from body cam video and surveillance that has been conducted over the last several months. Officials say Kraft was driven to the spa by a chauffeur. The average cost per visit for services is $59 or $79 per hour, according to police. Kraft will be charged with a misdemeanor and will have to appear in court.
The report is saying that the women accused of running the prostitution ring were working out of local spas posing as massage parlors. The investigation has been ongoing for roughly 8 months and officials say they’ve identified more than 100 men involved.
Now, am I surprised that an uber-rich white man was accused of attending a business for a rub-and-tug? Not in the least bit. Prostitution is the world’s oldest profession, and in my eyes, should be legalized and regulated. Sex and human trafficking—not OK. Men and women willingly selling their bodies for cash, safely and sterile—totally OK. I don’t hate Kraft supporting small business and people working hard for their money, but I do hate the guy supporting any illegal sex/human trafficking.
Is he on his way to becoming the next Jim Irsay? Remains to be seen.
However, there are 2 stories circulating. One, that he just walked into the rub-and-tug and got the tug, which is almost totally fine. At least not the worst thing you could do. People do that shit all the time. I personally know people who have done this. The other story is that he’s the head of the sex-trafficking ring, which would not be fine at all. Whether or not this is one or the other remains to be seen yet.
Apparently, there is a video of Kraft walking into the place, which was in a strip mall apparently (side note: wild move to do this in a strip mall). As far as we know, he walked in to just get a massage. But we’ll see. The worst part about this from a Patriots’ perspective is 1. He’s a billionaire. My guy could’ve gotten this in his own home if he wished. He can definitely afford that. And 2. This will be attached to him forever now. And truthfully, in reality, he probably just went in to get jerked off. Is that a crime? Well, yes. But I mean, it’s sort of relatable. What guy hasn’t imagined getting his monkey yanked after a sultry massage? Either way, not a good look.
The story is still developing, so we’ll have to see what comes out over time. Like I said, not a good look, but could be worse. For everyone’s sake, let’s hope it doesn’t get worse. I don’t think we need another old rich guy to be soliciting illegal sex of any kind.
Notably, a spokesperson for Kraft has denied the allegations.
Asante Samuel has chimed in on Twitter, which is a wild move as well:
P.S. Real question to ask—which porn site posts the first spoof video? I got
