The Boston Bruins have officially have made their first move ahead of Monday’s trade deadline by trading for Ducks forward Ondrej Kase.
The Bruins were able to unload David Backes terrible contract in the deal but have to retain 25% of his deal. They also had to give up their first round pick along with Axel Andersson.
Anderson was a second round pick in 2018 and shouldn’t be big loss to the Bruins since they have enough prospect at defense.
Kase is a young right wing (24y/o) who should be able to help the Bruins top-6 immediately but what the most important part of this trade could be is getting rid of David Backes’ 6 million dollar contract. It give the Bruins room to make another move for a Kyle Palmeri or another forward to help their top 6 even more.
Rumors are Heinen and John Moore could be the next 2 Bruins on the move, but again those are just rumors.
