Congrats C.C. Sabathia!

19 seasons ago, Major League Baseball was introduced to C.C Sabathia. Since he has come into the league, he has been known as one of the biggest horses to ever step on the mound. C.C has always given a solid effort and always comes into games strong-headed and hard-throwing. On Tuesday, C.C achieved a goal that all pitchers can only hope to conquer at some point in their careers. C.C Sabathia achieved 3,000 strikeouts.

In his first season, C.C recorded 175 strikeouts as a rookie and landed himself a 17-5 record. The Indians knew they had quite the pitcher on their squad. C.C would follow up his rookie year with a 13-11 season and 149 strikeouts. C.C was always known for the strikeouts. Between a mean slider, dirty curve and an aggressive fastball, when C.C is on his game he is almost unhittable. Sabathia spent 8 years with the Indians and even won the Cy Young award in 2007 before being traded to the Brewers in 2008.

C.C only spent half the 2008 season with the Brewers but made his presents known and addicting. C.C recorded a 11-2 record with a 1.65 ERA and 128 strikeouts. The Brewers tried to bring back Sabathia in the offseason but would fall short to, who else, the New York Yankees. The Yankees inked C.C for 7 years and gave him a salary of 161 million dollars. C.C joined AJ Burnett and Mark Teixeira as free agent pick ups for the Bombers and ended up taking home the World Series title in his first season with the team.

No doubt that we will see C.C Sabathia in the hall of fame someday but that is not what C.C is focused on. C.C planned to retire last season but did not achieve his goal of being a champion again, so he signed up for another year to help the Yankees get back. Right now, the Yankees stand at 17-12 and sit in second place right now in the AL East. Hurt buy injury, C.C and the Yankees are looking to continue their hot streak and get back their players to get back on track for there 2019 championship run. For now, Congratulations to C.C Sabathia on his huge accomplishment and I hope he continues to be the veteran horse New Yorkers have come to love for the last 10 seasons.
