Dodgers March to the NLCS

For the third consecutive year, the Los Angeles Dodgers are headed to the National League Championship Series. It was basically a formality.

While the upstart Atlanta Braves gave the Dodgers a helluva fight last night in a great game, no one was picking them to advance past the World Series-or-bust Dodgers.

The loaded Dodgers squad took the series in fairly convincing fashion, with Hyun Jin Ryu dominating over seven innings in a 6-0 game one victory, Clayton Kershaw going god mode and throwing 8 scoreless innings en route to a 3-0 game two win, and then the Dodger bullpen throwing 4 ⅔ innings scoreless to seal the series win in game three.

This sets up a great NLCS matchup of the young gun Milwaukee Brewers and the perennial powerhouse Dodgers. Two lineups that know how to hit the ball and two pitching staffs that look unhittable right now.

The double M’s, Manny Machado and Max Muncy. look absolutely unstoppable right now, with both hitting a pair of home runs against Atlanta. Coupled with the resurgence of the red rocket Justin Turner and Joc Pederson, it’s a volatile lineup for the Brew Crew pitchers.

Game one of the NLCS will be on Friday in Milwaukee. Get ready for some serious fireworks.
