Middle Urinal Must Bets: NFL Week 7

ANYWHO, welcome to Middle Urinal Must Bets, presented by the WTP Sports Book (go DM @WTP_SportsBook on Twitter to place your bets). Each week on Live from the Middle Urinal—an OK-at-best podcast you certainly should(n’t) listen to—myself and fellow degenerate sports bettors Dom, Rob, and Phil give you our…LOCKS OF THE WEEK. After going 4-0 (Matt) and 2-2 (Dom), now we’re committing to 16 weeks of pickin’ LOCKS for the boys. Make sure you listen each week—we give extra picks in the pod!

So far, we’re 9-6-1 on the year and 15-8-1 overall (not counting bonus picks)—not bad for guys who don’t know what they’re doing. Now, without further ado, here are our LOCKS OF THE WEEK for NFL Week 7.

Matt (3-3; overall, 7-3)
The Game: Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants; Sunday, 1:00pm
The Pick: NYG -3

Arizona is traveling west to east. They’re terrible when they do so. The Giants are also getting Saquon Barkley back, which really offers up a ton of opportunities for Daniel Jones to spread the ball around while keeping the defense honest about the run. People are high on Arizona these past few weeks, and rightfully so, but this is a bread and butter pick for the Giants. They’re the better team and they should win this game.

Dom (4-2; overall, 6-4)
The Game: New England Patriots at New York Jets; Monday, 8:15pm
The Pick: NYJ +9.5

While the Jets most likely won’t be able to give the Patriots trouble offensively, Sam Darnold being back is a huge boost for them. Their ability to score points is heads and shoulders higher with him on the field. And with CJ Mosley coming back on defense, there’s a chance that they can pressure Brady with behind his relatively beat up offensive line. It feels like this is gonna end something like 35-27. It’s a lot of points. Value.

Rob (1-1-1; overall, 1-1-1)
The Game: New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears; Sunday, 4:25pm
The Pick: NO +4

Chicago might be the most overrated good team in the NFL. Their defense is good, but it’s certainly not playing at a top tier level lately. The Saints, on the other hand, have the Pope on their side and a good defense of their own. Kamari is out, but he hasn’t produced much this year, so it seems like Latavius Murray should be capable of filling the role. Love the number.

Phil (1-0; overall, 1-0)
The Game: Baltimore Ravens at Seattle Seahawks; Sunday, 4:25pm
The Pick: o48.5

Both of these offenses are capable of moving the ball (Baltimore’s leads the league). While we’re not sure which side comes out of it, this one feels like a shootout in the making. Two dynamic offenses and two middle of the road defenses. Works for us.

The Game: San Francisco 49ers at Washington Redskins; Sunday, 1.00pm
The Pick: SF -10

San Francisco is for real. They’re very good, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Given that they can also score from anywhere on the field, this one should be over quickly. Think a similar ending to when Washington played New England. Book it.

Every Sunday morning, I’ll be bringing you these picks, so make sure you place all your bets with the WTP Sports Book by DMing us at @WTP_SportsBook on Twitter. Go make some money, folks. And listen to the show on Wednesdays anywhere you can find podcasts!
