You don’t attack kids.
You hear people say it all the time; it should be common sense. Say what you want about me, but don’t go after my kids. Alex Reimer hadn’t heard that, is too stupid to understand it, or just decided to ignore it when he said that Tom Brady’s 5-year-old daughter was a “whiny little pissant” on WEEI over the weekend. Maybe he thought people could relate to a 5-year-old whining. Maybe he was trying to make a joke. Well, Tom Brady certainly didn’t find it funny, and neither did I. WEEI also didn’t find it funny, as they have suspended Reimer indefinitely for the remark. It might even get him fired. You may think it’s harsh, but, I’ll say it again: You don’t attack children.
Tom Brady cut his weekly interview with Minihane and Callahan short Monday morning because of the remark and has reportedly said he would have to consider his options moving forward. At this point, WEEI has no option but to do what they should’ve done already, which is fire Reimer. Imagine if the Patriots won the Super Bowl this Sunday, and Tom Brady doesn’t make his weekly interview because of what this moron said? I wouldn’t just fire him; I might make the guy disappear.
Tom Brady is the best football player of all time, maybe the best athlete of all time. He’s married to one of the most famous and beautiful supermodels in the world. He makes more money in one month than most of us will ever see in our entire lives. But at the end of the day, he’s just a regular dad, who loves his kids more than anything else in the world. You don’t mess with a dad’s kids. If someone made comments like that about one of my kids, I’d make sure everyone knew that person and the company they work for are horrible. I’m not sure how many people would listen to me, but I’m pretty sure quite a few would listen to Tom.
