In a post-Giancarlo-to-the-Yankees AL East, the Red Sox can easily convince themselves that Martinez is worth the 5-year, $125 million dollar offer they've extended to him. Their desperation makes him seem worth it, and that will be more than enough for them.
As of now, Boston is by far Martinez's best option, and by spring training many expect him and Boras to realize that.
