Is it Time to Panic for the Bruins?

The Boston Bruins got banged up on this past road trip, and it’s a tad concerning. Losing Zdeno Chara and Patrice Bergeron for at least a month isn’t good and it will test the team’s youth and mental strength.

Chara will be missing at least four weeks with an MCL injury to his left knee. Bergeron will miss at least a month with an injury to his ribs after an awkward fall into the boards. The Bruins lose their two biggest leaders on the ice, while also losing their top scoring forward in Bergeron, who had 26 points in 19 games.

As I have previously stated, this team can compete if they can get healthy, but that has not been the case this year. This team might finally get Charlie McAvoy and Kevan Miller back in the lineup, but they’re still without Brandon Carlo and Moore.

The Bruins will look to replace Bergeron by having Krejci, Pastrnak and Bjork on the first line and Nordstrom, Marchand and Debrusk on the second line. You can see Cassidy trying to balance the offense now that Bergeron is out, and I absolutely love Krejci and Pastrnak on the same line. Krejci should love Pastrnak on his wing since he hasn’t had a talent like that on his line since Milan Lucic.

As of right now, I wouldn’t worry about the Bruins. The season is still young, and if they can make it through November and December without losing too many games, they should be alright. These next few months could get frustrating for Bruins fans, but they just have to stick through it because their main guys will be back in time for a playoff push.
