This past Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts put a beat down on the Bills winning 37-5, but the biggest takeaway from this game was Marlon Mack.
Finally healthy and ready to go, Mack has been a beast these past two weeks. Last week, Mack totaled 93 scrimmage yards on 13 touches, but this week he decided that wasn’t enough, running for 126 yards on 19 carries and a pair of touchdowns coming from both the ground and air. He also added 33 yards on two catches.
Mack looked great in his second game back and looks to have already taken the job as the Colts’ number one back. This is someone I’ve been waiting to break out since last year and now that Andrew Luck is leading healthy and leading this offense, Mack’s stock skyrockets. Now that they have a reliable back, expect Frank Reich to dial back the passing game to ease the strain on Luck’s surgically repaired shoulder.
Mack is now in his second year in the NFL, after an amazing career at the University of South Florida, leading the ACC in rushing during his freshman and sophomore years. Mack had just 358 yards on 93 carries during his rookie season while playing with a torn Labrum. Now finally healthy, he appears ready to take his game to the next level as one of the league’s top backs. If he’s somehow still available in your fantasy league, you better scoop him up quickly.
